The Champlain and Bishop’s communities came together to celebrate the raising of the Odanak flag on campus.
”With profound thanks to the people of the Abenaki Nation, notably Chief O’Bomsawin and Mr. Daniel Nolet, our campus community has an opportunity to nurture reconciliation, build bridges, and participate in the ongoing healing that is needed within the social fabric, between nations, and between peoples. We are grateful for the openness and indeed, the friendship of leaders of the Abenaki Nation to these ends,” mentioned Nancy Beattie, College Director, during the ceremony.
The heartwarming ceremony was followed by a celebration of Sigwan (the spring equinox) through a feast of food and the Abenaki Language Scavenger Hunt.
