Champlain College-Lennoxville is organizing its first edition of The Cougar Run, a family-friendly 5k race around our beautiful campus. Cougar Runners, Cougar Cubs, and Mini Cougars – be ready to be showered with colourful powder as you run, jog, or walk your way through our fun colour stations.
The Cougar Run is a fundraiser event in support of the Champlain-Lennoxville Foundation. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go toward athletic excellence (participation in national championships) and the General Fund, which supports overall student success and well-being.
Registration includes admission to The Cougar Run, a Cougar Paw temporary tattoo, your race bib, water, snacks, and access to our Tropical bouncy house! The lucky first 150 participants to register will also receive a unique Cougar medal, as well as a pair of blue sunglasses – the perfect addition to your runner’s outfit!
Participants must register prior to the event. Click here to fill out the registration form.
In addition to your brightest smile, we suggest wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting colourful or stained a little. Coloured powder appears most vibrant on white clothes. We also suggest bringing sunglasses and something to cover your car seats for your drive home.
We will not have storage facilities on campus, so please plan to bring only what you can carry with you onto the course.
Yes, you can. Be creative! Please make sure that your costumes are appropriate for running. The safety of our participants is our priority.
We LOVE pets, but the race is animal free. For the safety of pets and all participants, please leave your furry friends at home.
On average, the course takes about 20 minutes to run or an hour to walk.
The first 150 participants to register will receive a medal to commemorate their achievement at the finish line.
We recommend participants arrive between 8:30-8:45 a.m. as the race starts at 9:30 a.m. This will give you enough time to get your entry bib, stretch, and participate in the warm-up workout.
Yes! Toilets are located in the Champlain Building, which is the start/finish area.
You will receive your entry bib upon arrival on the day of the event.
The health of our participants and volunteers is our top priority. The powder is non-toxic and cornstarch-based. Our volunteers have been instructed to throw colours below the head. We suggest that runners wear sunglasses or goggles if they are concerned about getting powder in their eyes.
We highly recommend you arrive early for this event. Parking is available in P1.
Yes, parking is free for the day.
