On Tuesday, March 25th, the WUSC Student Refugee Program hosted an inspiring event in the Champlain lobby. Attendees heard powerful anonymous testimonials from students sponsored on campus, and Mary Purkey shared her journey with the Student Refugee Program, which she co-founded with Heather Thompson in 1992.

The event ended with some beautiful performances by talented students involved and volunteering in the program. Dieudonne Bondo delivered a moving spoken word poem, and Clement Nungure, student at Bishop’s University, captivated us with his song “I Believe.”
