Program Description
The Business program (also known as the Administration and Management Technology Techniques) equips students with practical skills and knowledge for a successful career in the business world. The program begins with a broad introduction to the key areas of business and management, giving students a solid foundation in how organizations operate.
As students progress, they develop a deeper understanding of administration and management concepts and apply what they learn through increasingly hands‑on coursework. The program culminates in an internship with a local business, allowing students to gain valuable real‑world experience. Courses in business‑related computer applications ensure that students are comfortable using the digital tools essential to today’s business environment.

Bring Your Own Device
As the vast majority of business activities rely on digital technologies, an electronic device (laptop or tablet) is a mandatory part of the program. This technological requirement is designed to develop students’ digital skills, to integrate specialized software in class activities, and to enhance students’ autonomy and flexibility in completing assignments, both individually and in the context of group work. While no specific device or operating system is required and all platforms (Apple, Windows, Chromebook) are acceptable, a Windows‑based laptop equipped with a webcam, microphone, and speakers is recommended.
This program is available in the Fall semester only.
The Comprehensive Assessment
The comprehensive assessment is associated with the Internship and Small Business Start‑up courses, which are completed during the final semester of the program. These courses are designed to support students’ transition into the workforce by providing opportunities to apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program in real‑world professional contexts. To enroll in these courses, the student must successfully complete and pass all the courses offered during the first five semesters of the program.
Although linked to the Internship and Small Business Start‑up courses, the comprehensive assessment is evaluated independently. It is conducted by a committee of three Business professors and assesses the extent to which students have developed and demonstrated the program’s learning objectives, as outlined in the graduate profile. The assessment takes the form of an oral presentation, during which key competencies are evaluated on a pass/fail basis by the comprehensive assessment committee.
University Studies
Many Quebec universities grant advanced standing (DEC-BAC) in Business related programs to Administration and Management Technology graduates. These programs usually require additional math courses. Consult specific universities for details. Students can visit the Université de Sherbrooke and Bishop’s University websites to know more about options available in the Eastern Township region.
Also, graduates of the program may complete a Business Administration degree in one year at Griffith University in Australia. See specific information for International Students
