Funded by Entente Canada-Québec, this year-long program guided 8 program teachers through training in plurilingual pedagogical strategies.
Champlain College-Lennoxville has a linguistically diverse student population. Virtually all students use two or three (or more) languages on a daily basis for study, work, and social life. Moreover, most students now take some program courses in French; and all students must pass either the English Exit Exam or the Épreuve uniforme de français in French to complete their programs of study.
This project aimed to help teachers develop strategies for leveraging students existing language competencies to further improve their acquisition of French or English, while also helping them learn discipline-specific content for their programs.
Below can be found video testimonials and teachers’ accounts of the specific tools and strategies they developed and tested in their classrooms.
