The Champlain Cougar Football Team has the future of its student-athletes at heart. It is with a great understanding of the difficulty some students may face trying to perform at a high level both on and off the gridiron that Coach Joncas established mandatory study hall periods in the early 2010s. During those periods, all student-athletes are divided into 2 groups: students who are taking math classes (Science and Commerce students) and students who are not taking math classes (Social Sciences and Art students). These study sessions occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays during co-curricular hours.
We would like to thank La Caisse Desjardins des Deux Rivières de Sherbrooke for its support and contribution. We were able to hire tutors and mentors who are available for students during the study halls, which helped those who experience more difficulty in class. Having new resources in place also helps students transition from high school to CEGEP.
