About This Project

On May 23rd, we, for most of us, had to wake up early around 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Then we had breakfast with our host families, and after we left by bus and/or by train to go to our German buddies’ school in Gelnhausen. We spent the first couple of hours with them in their class before meeting as a Canadian group to prepare some gifts for the German teachers helping with the exchange. We also visited the Kaiserpfalz, Barbarossa’s castle in Gelnhausen, which is over 1000 years old. Later we went to Frankfurt for the rest of the day where we listened to a historical presentation of the city prepared by a German History class together with a group of Americans from the University of Central Michigan studying History in Germany for a few weeks. Lastly, we had free time in Frankfurt before having dinner in a typical restaurant and going back to our host home.
