Fall Orientation for New Students

WELCOME TO THE FALL 2020 SEMESTER AT CHAMPLAIN LENNOXVILLE!

WHAT ARE MY NEXT STEPS?

Saturday, August 22 – Residence Move-in. You must respect your move-in date and time without exception.

 

Monday, August 24 after 6:00 p.m. – You will be able to access your official timetable indicating the type of course delivery (Classroom, Online or Hybrid) via “my Lennoxville” and access your digital I.D. Card.

 

Thursday, August 27– Orientation for incoming students will take place on campus.  Students will receive their scheduled orientation period with instructions on how to proceed through MIO.

  • All new students to Champlain Lennoxville are required to participate in a mandatory Sexual Violence training, which will be delivered online this year.  More information on this will follow before the start of classes.

 

Monday, August 31 – Friday, September 11 – Course Change

 

Tuesday, September 8 – CLASSES BEGIN!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

COURSE CHANGES

The College may have modified your course schedule.  If you need to make adjustments or add courses, you may do so from August 31 – September 11.  To make an appointment with an Academic Advisor contact Student Records.

COURSE DELETION DEADLINE

The official Ministry deadline to drop a course (have it removed from your schedule) is normally September 19 for the fall term.  Due to a later start, we will extend the deadline to Friday, October 2. You must communicate with an Academic Advisor by this date to remove any courses that you are not attending from your schedule; otherwise, they will remain on your permanent academic transcript as failures.

STUDENT IDENTIFICATION CARDS

All students are required to have a student I.D. card, which is in a digital format and accessible in Omnivox.  Students who are unable to submit a photo through Omnivox will need to inform Student Records.

STUDENT IMAGE REFUSAL FORM

If you do not wish to have your photo, image, or video captured at Champlain College sponsored activities or events and published for promotional purposes, a Student Photo/Image/Video Refusal form is attached for you to sign and return.  Students under 18 years old require a legal guardian to sign their form.

CHAMPLAIN COMPUTER ACCESS INFORMATION, WIFI, OFFICE 365

All new students will receive, in OMNIVOX (documents), a Login Account with a Username and Password, which gives you access to the Champlain computers and other access listed below:

 

There is free WiFi in the Champlain Building.  Select the CRC-LENNOX network and enter your  Username and Password when prompted.

 

To access Office 365 go to www.office.com (this link is also on the on the Champlain website).  Your Office 365 account is your Username followed by @crc-lennox.qc.ca (LE1234567@crc-lennnox.qc.ca) and the Password is your Champlain Computer Password.

CHAMPLAIN BOOKSTORE

Some courses have course packs in addition to, or instead of textbooks.  Everything can be purchased at our bookstore in our temporary location on the 3rd floor in the Champlain Building (C323). Our online store option will be coming soon. Purchases will be available prior to classes starting on Monday, August 31.

More information will be posted on Omnivox under “Latest News” as we get closer to the start date.

 

Payment methods include cash, credit or debit card.

PRINT CREDIT

At the beginning of each semester each student will receive a $5.00 credit for printing in the Champlain building. The cost is 10 cents/page or 14 cents for recto-verso (both sides) or color print is 14 cents/page or 20 cents for recto-verso.  To purchase print credit, students may contact Student Records.

RESIDENCE

For any inquiries about the Champlain residence, please email Residence@crcmail.net.  Please note that parking passes for the Champlain Residences must be purchased for students who wish to park at the residence.

CHAMPLAIN STUDENTS' ASSOCIATION

Come visit the Champlain Students’ Association (CSA) in the trailer next to the Sports Complex (enter by the door facing the Sports Complex).

Office hours:  Monday to Thursday 8:30 to 4:30

FREE AGENDAS

Pick up your free agenda at the Champlain Students’ Association (CSA) office during your orientation day tour.   If you miss orientation, simply stop by the office (in the trailer next to the Sports Complex) during office hours. Limited quantities.  First come, first served!

PARKING INFORMATION

Parking passes may be purchased at Bishop’s Campus Security.  Security is open from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.

SCIENCE LABS

The professors in your theory classes will tell you when your labs will begin.

LOCKER RENTAL

Lockers in the Champlain building will not be available this year due to health and safety concerns. Students who require a locker with extenuating circumstances should contact studentservices-lennox@crcmail.net.

PARTIAL REFUNDS

Partial refunds for students not coming to Champlain will be considered if the College is notified in writing BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASSES.
