Force AVENIR Gala

Force AVENIR Gala

Special Care Counselling students, Jessie Ann Sutherland, Malayha Vaillancourt, Leila Ravenelle, and Faculty member, Ingrid Cardyn, attended the Forces AVENIR gala in Québec City last week. Their Suicide Awareness and Prevention Walk was nominated in the category AVENIR Entraide, paix et justice.

We would like to congratulate all 3 students, especially Jessie-Ann who delivered an inspiring and heartfelt interview during the gala. She explained that the goal behind the organization of the walk was to ”help break taboos and stigmas within our community about the topic of suicide […] and to raise awareness by allowing people to feel like they are supported by us.”

What a wonderful accomplishment! We admire their tremendous efforts and involvement within the community. They definitely did the College proud!
