The John Bassett Memorial Library is currently undergoing major renovations and it has been temporarily relocated near the Sports Complex. It is slated to be reopened in September 2018 as the new Learning Commons.
The John Bassett Memorial Library houses a collection of nearly 600,000 items including books, journals, sound recordings, video and DVD recordings and other audiovisual and non-print materials.
In addition, online periodical databases and numerous electronic resources provide extensive access to information in all disciplines.
The facilities include ten seminar rooms and numerous areas suitable for group study as well as individual study carrels for more than 400 users. There are several comfortable lounge areas including the periodical reading room where students can relax, chat with friends and enjoy a snack or a drink. A greatly enlarged and improved space houses the music collection, and listening stations provide access to the extensive collection of records and CDs. The Language Lab includes workstations dedicated to special language learning software and three private cubicles for oral practice.
The library is completely wheelchair accessible.
Guides and study aids for research in all academic disciplines are available in print or on the library’s webpage.
