Cougar Football Wins Bol D’or

The Champlain-Lennoxville Cougars came out on top in the 2019 Bol D’or in Thetford Mines, November 16, 2019 with a score of 24-17.

With a slow start to the season, the Cougars of Champlain-Lennoxville College ended with success at the 2019 Bol D’or provincial championship. After winning last week against the Spartans of Cegep du Vieux-Montreal, who were the 1st place team in the division 1 league, the Cougars made it to the Bol D’or to play against the Cheetahs of Vanier College.

The Cougars started the game strong without losing the lead throughout the entire match. Finally, with a score of 24-17 the Cougars end their season as champions.

Sherbrooke native, Lukas Boulanger won the title of player of the game.  The senior quarterback completed 4 of 6 passes for 107 yards and one touchdown. He also had 123 yards on 18 carries. Both the offence and defense played tremendously well despite the freezing temperatures, making Champlain College proud, as they always do.

Champlain Lennoxville College would like to thank their dedicated fans for withstanding the brisk wind chill of -18 to support their Cougars and experience the excitement of watching a season worth of hard work pay off! A huge congratulations to our players, coaches and physio staff for the continuous hard work throughout the football season. We can’t wait to see what next season has in store!
