National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Last Friday was the second annual National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Champlain community, along with Bishop’s University, Université de Sherbrooke and Cégep de Sherbrooke, came together to honour Indigenous survivors, their families, and communities.

The Every Child Matters Walk marked the last day of a series of activities and initiatives that were held throughout the week. Students, staff, and faculty were invited to gather in the Quad to hear inspirational speeches before leaving for a march.

As a community, it is important to reflect on the country that we are and how we can improve our future for everyone. We invite you to show your support by educating yourself and those around you, but also by acknowledging the importance of continuing the conversation beyond September 30th.

Let’s move forward in the spirit of reconciliation.
